Social Events Officer
Georgia is one of the Law Society’s Social Events Officers. Georgia, works in conjunction with our other Social Events officer, Euan. She is responsible for the planning, organising and execution of all of AULS’s social events, including the famous AULS Law Ball which is our biggest event of the year and requires dedication as well as tremendous planning to make a reality. Our social events are key in our Society’s goal to aid members to socialise and network with fellow students, both law and non-law.
Georgia believes a social environment is a great platform for students to network and build confidence. She was keen to build rapport with her fellow students with various interests and maintain the great social dynamic that the society is known for.
Georgia's goal is to put on a range of different events, to encourage as many new members as possible, and to collaborate with other University societies. Another goal that Georgia has is to have a bigger focus on charity work and raise money in a way where the community can get involved. Ultimately, she aims to make the next year an enjoyable one for every single member of the society, and run events that everyone can get involved in.
The area of law that Georgia is most interested in is Environmental Law and Human Rights Law. Last year, Georgia got the opportunity to study animal welfare law briefly at University which sparked her interest in studying a range of animal welfare disciplines. This year, Georgia is excited to study Criminal Law, Gender Law, Medical Ethics, and Planning Law. All of which she holds great interest in.
